Yoga & Pilates

Rose-Marie Sorokin, B.A., Dip BWY, is fully qualified in Yoga, Pilates, Meditation and Personal Development. She has 25 years experience in this field and works internationally. She teaches an inspirational blend of different styles of Hatha Yoga , with a combination of easy-to-follow sequences (vinyasa) and static postures with the emphasis on breath awareness, energy, mental focus and sensitivity. Her own Evolution Pilates is a unique style of Pilates containing many highly effective exercises for releasing tension in the back, neck and shoulders together with a highly evolved approach to develop ‘core strength’ and general body toning.

Dalyan

Dalyan is situated on a river, next to a large lake and surrounded by lush green fields breaking into spectacular mountain ranges. On the opposite side of the river is the ancient city of Caunos that is debatably the second greatest archaeological site in Turkey. Only 10% of the city has been unearthed and every year more and more treasures are discovered. The area around Dalyan has some of the widest variety of wildlife to be found in Turkey, including some species of birds not found elsewhere in the world. The weather in Dalyan is dry and warm all summer, yet we have many large rivers that flow all year round, being fed by underground springs.

A short tranquil boat ride away from Dalyan harbour is a four kilometer long beach that is home to the rare Caretta Caretta turtles. With the views, history, culture, wildlife, water and sea topped off by the warm local hospitality, Dalyan is a true world beater of a holiday destination.

Accommodation

Our small, friendly and very stylish hotel (Dalyan Olive Garden Lodge) is in a peaceful location, surrounded by spectacular mountains, in a nature reserve on the very outskirts of Dalyan Village (15 min walk to Dalyan Village). This hotel is brand new and all rooms are en-suite with their own terrace or balcony overlooking the beautiful mountains and gardens (of 10,000 square metres). There is a small stream running through the garden and there is also a large swimming pool. We will be doing Pilates in the morning and Yoga in the afternoon in the beautiful and spacious courtyard.

Excursions (optional)

Besides visiting the 4 km long Iztuzu beach (by boat from Dalyan village – a wonderful trip!), we can also arrange a variety of trips; students can rise early one morning to see the turtles as they sunbathe on the river. There are also hot springs, mud baths and a huge lake to explore - its a very beautiful region. On Saturday mornings there is a large market in Dalyan village selling local produce, spices, fabrics etc. We can also arrange boat trips with barbeque lunches and a visit to a very old Haman (Turkish bath) in Fethye. There is an option of doing a 12 island boat trip which is absolutely amazing! Visits to the ancient city of Kaunos, a ‘ghost village’ at Kaya Koy or a hill top restaurant can also be arranged.
