Releasing tension, discomfort and pain, and feeling good in your body & mind.

A very gentle and relaxing class.


With decades behind me of teaching a variety of body/mind classes, I have noticed, among my class members, that aches, pains and discomfort are incredibly common. Most people have some degree of this, and it can really impact on not just your body but your mind and emotions as well. A constant background ‘noise’ of discomfort and tension is a disturbing factor, and it is only when we release this discomfort that we really understand how good we can feel. After a Release Session you will feel light, fluid and have more energy.


What we will do during a Release Session:


Fascia release. This will be the main component of the class. Fascia or connective tissue surrounds and infuses every muscle, muscle fibre, bone, blood vessel, nerve and organ in our body. It also directly affects our body systems like our muscular and neurological systems. We will be using a soft ball and a rolled-up towel or blanket to target different parts of the body to release the fascial adhesions. 


Somatics. This is gentle mindful full body movement to re-establish the connection and trust with your own body. It is excellent for releasing tension and pain and for feeling more centred in your body.


Breathing. Gentle breathing exercises that will help you to breathe more efficiently and thereby oxygenate every cell in your body.


Relaxation. The whole class is deeply relaxing, but we will go even deeper into relaxation at the end of the class.
